Kripps Pharmacythe downtown Vancouver landmark on the corner of Granville and Nelson, is leaving this 60 year old location and moving to Kerrisdale!
The family owned business was established in 1947 by Stephen and Agnes Kripps. In 1979 , Bonnie Kripps Thorpe and her husband Dr. Edward Thorpe, BSc (Pharm) PhD purchased the pharmacy and have continued on to this day but the “cozy corner drug store” will be no more. Given the rent increases, re-planning of Granville Street and redevelopment and changing demography of the neighborhood, much has altered. Kripps Pharmacy has a new home: 5413 West Boulevard (between 38th and 39th Avenues) in lovely Kerrisdale. The last day at the downtown location will be November 30th. Dr. Edward Thorpe, a compounding Pharmacist, is a leading expert on natural hormone replacement therapies, anti-aging, thyroid and immune deficiency issues. he and his wife remain on the cutting edge of manufacturing and have helped many people by keeping their own brand of products very reasonably priced. The company ships globally.... and all that in our backyard!
